Important Facts
Below are some important facts that we’d like you to know about staff, programming, lunch, transportation, extended camp and ACA accreditation.
Our Mission
Our goal at Decoma Day Camp is that each child
has a positive and meaningful summer vacation with emphasis on participation and fun. Our program is
designed to develop skills, enhance creativity, and most importantly build confidence and self esteem.
Our Staff
Our counselors are either school teachers or college students working toward a degree in recreation or education. Every counselor is responsible for those in his immediate care, but is also sensitive to all the campers present.
Flexible Programming
You can design your child's summer program to fit your needs.
- 4 through 8 weeks (4 week minimum)
- Additional postcamp week
- Choose any weeks during the summer (they need not be consecutive)
- Choose 3 or 5 days per week
- Shortened day option for preschool age children
Quality Lunches
Whether in the wooded cookout area or in our spacious dining hall, each day children enjoy a hot lunch
that is both nutritious and delicious. They'll still like your cooking best but we're certainly happy
to be considered number two. Lunch is included in camp tuition.
Reliable Transportation
Very simply put, from your front door, back to your front door. Cost for bus service is included in camp tuition. Estimated pick-up and drop-off times will be determined the week before camp starts. Order of pick up is determined by Decoma's transportation staff and special order of pick up requests are usually not permitted.
Extended Camp
Parents who wish to use this option provide their own transportation allowing for drop-off and pick-up at any time during the specified hours. Extended camp hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Bus Service and Extended Camp
Choose either/or for the AM and the PM. Extended Camp hours are listed above.
Decoma Day Camp is a member of the ACA
ACA (American Camping Association) accreditation is the best evidence parents have of a camp’s
commitment to a safe and nurturing environment for children. Accreditation assures parents that camp
practices have been measured up to 300 national standards and go a step beyond a state’s basic
licensing requirements.
